Transforming Classroom Facilities in Ghana
On Monday the 12th of May 2025, a classroom block with new water, sanitation and hygiene facilities was handed over to the people of the community of Ntinanko in Ghana.
The project, funded by Nestlé and implemented by ETG | Beyond Beans in partnership with the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) and Cocoa Merchants Limited (CML), is designed to improve the community’s access to quality education and ensure a hygienic environment for students and teachers.

Under this project, a total of four schools have been handed over to the communities of Ntinanko, Pewodie, Agyeikrom and Agogooso.
At the handover ceremony, Frank Asiedu, our country manager in Ghana, said: “We are not only interested in sourcing sustainable cocoa but also in building resilient communities where children can thrive. We know the people of Ntinanko community, and we believe that this school project will have a great impact. We are counting on you to protect the rights of children while ensuring the sustainability of cocoa here in Ntinanko.”

Stephen Kofi Akomaning, Headmaster of Ntinanko R/C “A” Basic School, expressed his appreciation for all the interventions and their school specifically and said the facilities would encourage children to attend school. The community has already started their preparations to ensure the school and its facilities are maintained.
Edna Amoah, the school prefect, said: “We always see ETG | Beyond Beans here in our community. Last year we had the menstrual hygiene project and this year, we have a classroom block with washroom facilities. We are grateful and I believe my friends will always be happy coming to school.“
