We are thrilled to have collaborated with AMAKA Studios, a Pan-African digital media publisher, on an incredible project. Our work focuses on the intersection of gender equality, environmental protection, and supporting farmer livelihoods.
Our approach involves establishing community-based groups called Village Saving Loans Associations (VSLAs), which help to enhance financial capacity in farming communities. Through the support of ETG | Beyond Beans, we have integrated gender empowerment and child protection training methodologies into the creation of these groups.
Please visit our micro-site to read four articles about our efforts to combat child labour in West Africa, and to learn about the positive impact that VSLAs have had on Clothilde Ayissi, Roseline Gban Adrien, and Mary Frimpong, smallholder farmers from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana.
