THE ORGANISATION
The Beyond Beans Foundation is the implementing partner of agricultural commodities trader ETG for sustainable cocoa programmes. These are developed with and for industrial chocolate makers. In close cooperation with our Sustainability Team in West Africa, cocoa suppliers and programme partners we support farmers to improve their farming practices towards a living income, we help communities to tackle child labour, we strive for women’s economic justice, and we protect the natural environment with agroforestry and conservation efforts. Beyond Beans is a foundation based in the Netherlands with subsidiaries Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo. With our international and driven team of 250+ project and field officers we build dedicated sustainable supply chains towards skilled farmers, resilient communities, and healthy environments.
THE JOB
We are looking for Finance Officer to support the Finance Manager in managing the financials of Ghanaian country office and execute the day-to-day financial tasks of office.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing of Payments: Ensure all payments requests submitted are back with the appropriate supporting documents, reviewed and approved before payment is made.
- Prepare payment vouchers and attach needed supporting documents for approval.
- Process Mobile money payments with the bank or on the banking platform.
- Management of Project bank account: Process payment on banking platform and liaise with bank for smooth running of the bank account. Generate reports and payment advice on the banking platform as needed.
- Filling: Review transaction-supporting documents to ensure they are complete and properly filed accordingly on shared point.
- Daily inputting of all financial transactions into the ERP or into daily expense logbook or appropriate template.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation for multicurrency and consolidate reconciliation statements for finance manager’s review.
- Update the realised budget templates for all verticals in the Ghana office.
- Liquidity management: Daily monitoring and report on bank balances to finance manager
- Generate report on realised budget and share with Finance manager for review
- Support Ghana team to ensure compliance with financial policies (ex: withholding tax, usage of excel documents/tools, travel/momo policies, ect.)
- Any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager
THE TEAM
You will be working in our dynamic sustainability team that is spread over the Netherlands (Amstelveen) and West Africa (Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Togo and Cameroon). In Ghana, you will be working with a team of 10+ at the office in Accra/Kumasi, and a 120+ strong field team across the country. Internationally, you will be in contact with our head office team in Amstelveen, other origin teams and work in close collaboration with our sector partners and cocoa suppliers.

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor/master’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of experience in Accounting and Financial management.
- Advance competencies in the usage of Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Solid understanding of accounting and finance
- Experience in processing and filling of statutory payments (SSNIT, PAYE, Withholding taxes)
- Excellent analytical skills and great attention to detail.
- A professional attitude and a continuous drive to improve work processes.
- Ability to communicate in clear terms (both verbal and written)
- Fluency in English. French or other languages are a bonus.
- Eager to learn and develop new skills
